In the industry dominated by European and Japanese, the Korean Kia has been met with skeptical eyes. But not anymore—the brand took drastic measures to improve its styling particularly in its 2016 Optima. The result brings the model into the pedestal of most coveted cars under the family sedan segment.
Optional Gears
In the hypercompetitive market of sedans, even elegant styling may not be enough to catch attention. Kia is more than aware of that; hence, their move to collect customers as much as they can is highly commendable: No Price increase just yet. Instead, they have given their potential clients with wide array of optional gears with SX 2.0T as one of them.
SX 2.0T is the second highest of the 5 trim levels offered for Optima. It has the price tag starting at $38,000 and features 18-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof and Harman/Kardon audio upgrade (summarized as Launch Edition package).
Cabin
There’s nothing negative to say inside with the Nappa leather upholstery and metal trims for the doors and dashboard. The organization of 2 main divisions for the upper display and lower control are bordered by the 8.0-inch touchscreen. All in all, it is a neat design that gives comfort and ease for both driver and passengers.
Performance
SX 2.0T was endowed with the twin-turbocharged four-cylinder and six-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. It can summon a good 245 horsepower and 260 pound-foot of torque. Not only that this model bears refined exterior qualities but behaves the same way on the road. Expect quiet drive though you may find the paddle shifters a bit challenging.
