After two years of waiting in oozing impatience and anticipation over Ford’s Mustang Shelby, we are now looking forward to meet Mustang Shelby GT350R in the markets. Chevrolet’s three domineering titans under the performance coupes and convertibles namely: Corvette Z06, Camaro ZL1 and Camaro Z/28 may find a worthy opponent, after all.
What Meets the Eye
GT350R was fitted with 19-inch carbon-fiber wheels, rendering it 60 pounds lighter than a car with aluminum ones. ThePilot Sports Cup 2 tires were crafted by Michelin, an exclusive for our Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. Measuring, it is 11 inches wide in the front and 11.5 inches wide at the back.
Under the Hood
Ford incorporated adjustable chassis settings for our GT350R. Hence, sprouts the five mode operations that may suit your purpose, scenario and even mood: Normal, Sport, Weather, Track, and Drag. These modes greatly affect the response on acceleration, traction and stability control, magnetorheological dampers, exhaust system and launch control.
Sorry but for the gearbox, automatic is out of question. GT350R is offered with 6-speed manual only, giving the driver more control on this wonderful beast and of course—the practical sense of economizing fuel.
More impressive, the carmaker saw to it that GT350R is endowed with efficient and effective brake system. Not to be so smug about it, but the brake-pedal feel is dubbed as the best.
