For the past five years, Buick has worked hard in order to erase the rugged and solid image that was a trademark in their designs, which most people think are both ‘traditional’ and old. However, the rise of Riviera, their two-door sedan series, had also raised efforts in order to introduce a brand new range of cars that bear the Buick name. But unlike the Riviera, their new set of cars will have that luxury kind of look and design, which is noticeable in their Avista concept.
In this brand-new concept, the Avista’s overall design definitely erases the marks of being ancient and traditional qualities of Buick designs. Featuring a powerful grille, wing-shaped head, taillights and sinewy character line will be the company’s concept of their future car designs. Since this is a two-door sedan, most people are thinking why this one isn’t a part of the Riviera series. The company claims that ‘This car is a brand-new one that looks forward’, which definitely means that the overall features are a whole new concept apart from its doors.
Under the Hood
Inside lies a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, which runs at 400 horsepower, along with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The wheels look dynamic due to its 110.7-inch wheelbase and clipped overhangs, which is a perfect addition to its engine. It is also noticeable that the car’s exhaust releases really mean notes, actually the sound of a revving-up sports car, when it was revealed and tested on Detroit Stage.
Interior
Peering through the pillarless windows reveals an airy four-seater, matching light colors and nontraditional materials with its new age luxury experience, is definitely a must-have. Other significant interior features suggest that Buick had spent considerable time in designing more than what features their future cars will include.
