Luis Alberto Suarez Diaz, more commonly known in the football world as Luis Suarez, was a known Uruguayan Football Player who was born on January 24, 1987. He is the third most expensive player in football history due to his move in Barcelona for £65 million (€81 million), which the English Press in their region had claimed to be £75 million. Being widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, he had won the European Golden Shoe Award during his previous season with Liverpool, one of the main reasons why FC Barcelona had claimed him to become part of their team.
Suarez had started his career in 2004 as a youth player for Nacional, his first team where he had stayed for three years. After that, he signed up in Groningen where he stayed for one year before transferring to Ajax. He had helped Ajax win the KNVB Cup and had also become the league’s top scorer for scoring 35 goals in 33 games. He had managed to score 49 total goals in all competitions, therefore making him the Dutch Footballer of the Year during that time. In addition to that, Suarez had won the 2012 Football League Cup, was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year, won the Premier League Golden Boot and had shared the European Golden Shoe Award with Cristiano Ronaldo during his stay in Liverpool.
He is now currently playing for FC Barcelona and Uruguay national team as a striker.
