During the 90’s, we are all aware that MTV used to broadcast videos all around the globe, dominating almost every television screen. Right now, YouTube has dominated the Internet, along with Vevo.
Unknown to most of us, Vevo had just replaced MTV when it comes to displaying music videos whether in television or internet platforms. This is a joint venture of Sony Entertainment, Abu Dhabi Media Group and Universal Music, which now offers at least 75,000 music videos all around the globe. Its contents are also available in YouTube due to agreement with Google that also includes a financial investment.
As of now, Vevo YouTube Channel offers different channels such as Vevo Lift for rising artists, Vevo Certified for awarding Vevo artists, Vevo Dscvr for new discoveries and Disney Music. Music Artists who have their own Vevo channels include One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Fifth Harmony, not to mention lots of others. By subscribing to your favorite mainstream artist, you can view their posted videos in their channel.
In addition to that, some countries such as UK, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, India and France also have their own Vevo versions.
Aside from music videos, Vevo also offers original TV content and short video clips through Vevo TV. Their videos can be viewed by using their personalized app for Android, iOS or Windows 8.1. Vevo content can also be viewed through Dish, Sony Playstations 3 and 4, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and ONE, chromecast, Android, Apple, Fire and Samsung TV and Roku.
