In addition to its attempt of making Android-powered smartphones that will become available worldwide this year, Nokia had made another one, that is, to relive a decade-long memory.
More than a decade ago, Nokia manufactured the 3310, a so-called ‘basic’ phone that is widely-known for its almost extreme durability. Since it has no visible antenna like the 5110 and a bit smaller than 3210, Nokia 3310 had managed to achieve a worldwide success. Some even claimed to have used the phone up to the point where there are no available spare parts for it. And compared to smartphones and ‘military grade’ basic phones nowadays, the 3310 is no doubt stronger than both, hence having the right to claim the ‘indestructible’ title. What made the 3310 more memorable are the three available games: Snake II, Space Impact and Bantumi. Ask a former 3310 user and he will tell you something about these three.
Cutting long introductions short, Nokia had decided to make a new version of Nokia 3310, which doesn’t look like the Nokia 3310 that adults loved. The company claims that the 2017 version contains the former one’s semi-rigid and almost indestructible body, though experts are not entirely sure of it. It is also noticeable that the 2017 version has a colored LCD screen, glossy body and a camera, features that don’t resemble the former one at all. The truth is, it is more comparable to Nokia 222, experts claimed.
The advantage with this phone is that, just like other basic phones, there is no need for you to have its apps updated in a regular basis aside from the fact that you won’t be bothered in case that its display gets scratched in any way. However, no one knows as of now whether it could surpass the former one (or original).
The truth is, most tech experts are skeptical about the new 3310. Most of them sale that it is mainly for the purpose of having bigger sales that the new 3310 is named after the former one despite the fact that it doesn’t contain any identical feature. And since it’s still new, no one really knows whether it can survive at least a hundred drops without its LCD screen and other parts being damaged. However, if you’re going to look at the bright side, the 2017 version of Nokia 3310 will no doubt be compared to the original once it hits the stores worldwide. Only one thing is for sure, though: the 2017 Nokia 3310 will be considerably CHEAPER than the former one.
