Microsoft Office App Now Available for Your Android Smartphone

Finally the long wait for Microsoft Office in our Android smartphones is over!  The Redmond giant officially announced that Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be downloaded to Android phones via Google Play.

Last February, Microsoft Office was only made available for Android tablets.  But smartphone users with Android versions of 4.4 and above can easily acquire and run the said app.  What’s more exciting about the Microsoft Office app? It is downloadable for gratis (free of charge)!

Students, office workers and even simple housewives can instantly access their Word, Excel and Powerpoint without even opening their desktop computer or laptops.  If you want to present something, you can easily plug your smartphone to a pocket projector like the ASUS E1Z and launch your PowerPoint presentation.

An option of utilizing the cloud version of Powerpoint, Word and Outlook is also made available through Office365.  However, an annual subscription fee of $100 is asked but what is it compared to the benefits at hand?

Talking about the goal of these apps, EbunOnagurawa (Microsoft product manager) stated that they were made and developed to render people thinking about working, creating and doing with Office as their default tool.

During the preview alone, Microsoft Office was downloaded and installed into 1,900 various Android phone models in 83 countries.  The company then based their development and adjustments on the user feedbacks, making it better for the public launch.

Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be downloaded individually via Google Play.  This way, users can decide on their preferred or most used app.
