For the past few weeks, many rumors regarding the HTC’s next smartphone, the One X9, had leaked on various websites. Previously, it was just unsubstantiated or unsolicited information. But right now, photos posted by someone from China, who had somehow managed to get his or her hands on the said smartphone, confirm that the rumors are true.
In addition to that information, the rumored smartphone is said to feature a 5.5-inch, 1080 pixel resolution touchscreen, MediaTek MT6975 SoC chipset that contains a 2.2 GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage capacity and a microSD card slot. A 5MP UltraPixel front camera and a 13MP rear camera packed with OIS are also included in the said smartphone. It is going to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and is said to run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. Furthermore, it contains a metal-accented plastic body rather than the usual One A9’s metal unibody. It is rumored that, because of somewhat inferior features comparing to One A9, the price could also be significantly lower.
According to LlabTooFeR’s Tweet, the One X9 would be released two to three months before the HTC One M10. HTC’s smartphone releases come somehow in a 13-month cycle. HTC One M9 was released last April this year so, in other words, M10 is going to be released in May next year. Subtract two or three months from that and you’ll get HTC One X9’s release date. In order to make things short, it will become available in stores in around late February or early March next year.
