HTC 10 Evo, which is more commonly known as HTC Bolt in the US, is named after Usain Bolt, the world-class sprinter. Being endorsed by such a personality will definitely give it a huge plus when it comes to popularity. However, most experts are asking this question now: Is it really worth your money?
Despite its loss in popularity a few years ago, HTC is still selling it at over $450. Most of us will think that the pricing isn’t that outrageous, given that there are worse smartphones out there. The sad thing is, experts aren’t too optimistic when it comes to such an issue.
Featuring a 5.5-inch Corning Gorilla Class 5 Super LCD3 screen, the HTC 10 Evo houses a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset, which is somewhat questionable due to its overheating issues two years ago. The company might have fixed that problem but still, most experts think that it is already two years behind. The smartphone’s performance, however, is said to be quite smooth considering the circumstances. The 32GB internal storage is the only available option and some of it is already being used by the installed Android Nougat OS so having a microSD card is recommended.
The HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio technology feature is also available. To those who didn’t know, this feature uses USB Type C headphones (replacing the 3.5mm audio jack) that tune in accordance to your own ear’s structure. This is very impressive, especially if you are having difficulties in finding the right headphones.
Just like most HTC smartphones, the HTC 10 Evo uses only one nano SIM card slot while the other one is dedicated for the microSD card expansion. It is also noticeable that there are many installed apps (mostly company bloatware) so updating can be quite time and space-consuming. Be informed, though, that it is still up to you whether you remove the useless apps or not.
