The Revenant has made quite a fuss during the 2016 Oscars due to the fact that it had managed to get three Academy Awards, making the movie second to Mad Max: Fury Road, which came first along with six awards. However, what makes The Revenant extra special is the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio, the movie’s lead actor, has finally made to get his first-ever Academy Award right after more than two long decades.
To make things straight, Leonardo DiCaprio is a great actor and his movies such as the best-selling movie Titanic, Catch me if You Can and Inception can prove that. But due to unproven reasons, the Academy Award for Best Actor had managed to escape his grasp. That’s the reason why he had received a standing ovation from the audience as he walks in front of the stage to get his award, an award that he truly deserves.
It is very remarkable that he had not only used his very special moment just to thank everyone, including his co-actor and director but he had also used that in order to advocate for the welfare of this planet. As he quoted, “Climate Change is real…” he told everyone that he doesn’t speak for the big corporations or organizations that do not support pollution. Instead, he is speaking for the indigenous and underprivileged people who cannot even speak for their own selves.
And being said all of that, well…Leonardo DiCaprio really sounds very amazing.
