When you actually a hot red car with snobbish air (thanks to its over-sized tweaked nose of a grille), won’t you get intimidated or excited? In the case of 2016 Lexus IS200t F Sport, it may get your heart racing and rolling over. But does the exterior meet what is hidden under its hood?
Upgraded Core and Guts
Toyota’s Luxury brand gave the rear-wheel drive IS200t F Sport with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder for an engine. It can then summon 241 of horsepower and 258 pound-foot of torque when working together closely with its 8-speed auto transmission. Though Lexus do not believe that a manual transmission would benefit any of its IS sedan, but the 200t F Sports makes an exemption.
The chassis tuning bears the semblance with those of the toppers of the segment. It also utilizes the platform that gives off a sharp turn-in and good feel and lift in the steering. Meanwhile, the brake pedal feels lazy within the city bounds but firms up when forced to.
What’s Lacking?
Given that 200t F-Sport do not lack in premium trims and impressive under-the-hood specs and that the glossy red hotness of its body paint complete with the glaring headlights and pinch-nose grille, what does it lack actually? It may be summed up in just one word—charm. Its specs are decent and its hotness can be labeled as something normal to luxury cars. So there… it actually lacks a high-pitch component worthy enough to be noted.
