The 2017 Audi S4 has noticeable marks of having been through an intensive overhaul. Firstly, they enhanced the 3-liter turbocharged V6 core to be more lightweight, fuel-efficient and powerful. It can summon 354 horsepower and 370 pound-foot of torque. Impressively, it can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in mere 4.7 seconds although it is only self-claimed by Audi.
Working closely with the V6 engine is the new 8-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox and Quattro’s AWD. Audi also offers another variant for the transmission—a 7-speed dual clutch; though many are still convinced that the German carmaker will offer the 6-speed manual.
As for the aesthetic aspect, it bears a pretty unique façade though more handsomely inclined. It features aluminum mirror cups, new side skirts, a dramatic hexagon nose sandwiched between mean-looking headlamps. Of course, Audi is not very subtle about their emblem as every product coming from their manufacturing plants is worthy to display their mark.
Inside, Audi offers high-backed sports seats in leather and microfiber upholstery. Choose from the three colors of grey, black and their latest “Magma Red.” You can also opt for the carbon-fiber trim though it can fetch you a few hundred bucks.
Expect S4 by the middle of 2016 and European folks will get to choose between sedan and as an Avant. In the US, it will be a sedan-only offer and will compete with BMW M3, Mercedes-AMG C63 and Cadillac ATS-V.
