Lexus GS 2016 : Updated Classic

When Lexus was created way back then, it was dubbed to be the Easter sedan to challenge the fleet of the European titans. And so it lived, survived and updated to continue its legend.

True to its mission, Lexus GS series goes bumper-to-bumper with the likes of Audi A6, Cadillac CTS and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

What’s New?

Lexus GS 200t—the first of GS—was introduced with turbocharged engine, inline-4 and 2-liter capacity.  The update consists of restyled fascia, now with Bi-LED headlights; wood trim and colors for the cabin; Lexus Safety System plus upgraded Multimedia Technology and Standard Navigation; and Lexus Enform Service Connect.

Apparently, GS 200t gains smoother performance on the road and that’s a big thanks to the newly endowed premium-fuel engine.  It can also sprint from 0-60mph in about 7.2 seconds, something that is normally produced by the 3,800 pound, four-door RWD of a vehicle.

On the other hand, GS 200t’s sibling the GS 350 gets a much smaller pump for this year (2016), being a 3.5L V6 that can summon 311 horse power and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. For its S variant, there will be an uplift of the specs for power and torque.  From mere 306hp, it can bring up to 311 horsepower; and from mere 277 lb.-ft., it can go up to 280 lb.-ft.
