Chevrolet had unveiled yet amazing top-down looker, the 2016 Camaro Convertible. This uber-sleek piece of an automobile shields you from weather exposure through an automatic top accessible by a key fob. Yup, guys… you don’t need to pull or twist anything just to activate the roof.
Exterior and Interior
Without prejudice, the 2016 Camaro Convertible mainly looks like a cool coupe with a ‘hoodie.’ It keenly resembles its sibling, the Camaro Coupe but has shed around 200 lbs. in weight. The trick was its maker built in in a much lighter structure. Scratch the ‘coupe’ factor (that’s only for the semblance) because the convertible is actually a 4-seater vehicle. Probing the interior, you can see a decently designed dashboard fully equipped with function buttons.
Engine, Transmission and Price
As tested, the Camaro Convertible sped a 30 mph on a top-drop-at-speed test which is 10x faster than Ford Mustang’s mere 3mph. It also ranked second among muscle cars against Ford mustang and Dodge Challenger.
Camaro is available in various powertrains which includes 2.0L, four-cylinder capable of 275hp; 3.6L V6 capable of 335hp; and a 6.2L LT1 V8 capable of a whooping 455hp. Partnering each of these powertrains are options of 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions.
With the Camaro Coupe, the launching will be this year’s fall season but the convertible comes early next year.
