Leaksfly (@leaksfly) tweeted about Oppo U3 specs last January 13. The leak-source indicated just the right number details enough to spark our imagination for the rest of Oppo U3’s specifications. Anyway, Oppo U3 had already received certification from TENAA. Now let’s put this device under the lens.
Before the leak, it has been reported that Oppo U3 will have a 9mm thickness but can house a 4X optical zoom. This time, it has slimmed down to 8mm but fails to confirm if it truly has the 4X optics for the primary camera. If rumors were true, Oppo U3 is the thinnest handset with huge optical sensors. However, the device is said to be weighing 180g which is slightly heavier than HTC One M8 which weighs 160g. The tipster also indicated that the handset will be given the price of ¥2,798 or an equivalent of $451 (US dollars).
Screen display—as further mentioned—is 5.9-inch with an impressive 1080×1920 pixels resolution. U3 is also said to come in silicon body with MediaTek chipset which is a 64bit octa-core clocking in 1.7GHz. For memory, it is debatable if it has a 16GB ROM but asserts a 2GB RAM. While nothing’s said about expandable memory, let’s take into consideration that China-made devices usually give room for expansion—that and the beefy price of $451. Better yet, the details for both snappers state 13MP rear-facing and 5MP up front. Oppo U3 will also be supported with VOOC Rapid charger for lightning-speed charging experience.
