Nokia’s first android smartphone, Nokia X is available at Rs. 8500/- at online retailers in India and the retailers can be seen declaring that Nokia X smartphone will available from 15 March 2014.
Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia dual-SIM variants were listed on the Indian site by the Finnish manufacturer as soon as MWC 2014 event rolled up. However pricing and availability details were not mentioned. Reports say that the company announced at the MWC 2014 launch, that Nokia’s first Android smartphone, Nokia X would go on sale immediately in countries like Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America and the Middle East.
Mobile Store has listed Nokia X while it was first spotted by Maktech blog. The available variants in Nokia X are Black, Green, Cyan, Yellow, Red and White. Since the new Nokia Android smartphone is available at a third-party price, it is not certain that the price quoted would be the official launch price until the smartphone is launched in India.
Based on Android Open Source Project i.e. AOSP along with tag name of Microsoft and Nokia, the phone is speculated to set new benchmarks in the telecom field. With Metro-inspired UI and Nokia’ new app store, Nokia X has a highly customized version of Android which is the highlight of the smartphone. Besides Google play and other android apps can be downloaded from some third-party source. Additionally Android 4.1 Jelly Bean corresponding to AOSP is used as the baseline for Nokia X operating system.
The new Nokia X smartphone offers dual SIM support, both being GSM along with dual stand by. The phone carries a big 4-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution 480*800 pixel which translates into a pixel density of 233ppi.
Nokia first android smartphone is powered by 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 512MB of RAM. Other features include a 3-megapixel rear camera, 4 GB of in-built storage which can be extended up to 32GB via microSD card.
The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, AGPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G accompanied by a 1500mAh battery giving you 13 hours of long talktime and up to 672 hours of standby time on 2G network.
