On 3 August 2020, Google has officially declared the arrival of its low-cost smartphone, the Pixel 4a.
It has no bragging rights compared to the iPhone SE, the OnePlus Nord, the Samsung Galaxy A51, and a hatful of other inexpensive phones from brands like Xiaomi and Realme.
In fact, you should avoid Google Pixel 4a if you are looking for:
- Superior performance, this is not for gamers
- Attractive additional features or trimmings
- A charged battery that lasts for days
But, if you are in search of an affordable phone that costs $350, this phone is an excellent choice for someone who prefers:
- Pocket-friendly phone from a reliable manufacturer
- An excellent camera
- Compactness
- Quality programming with the latest updates.
About the Pixel 4a
Its older sibling, the Pixel 3a, needed lots of improvement, and Pixel 4a pulled it off with remarkable achievement.
For a cheap price of $350, it has set a new standard for camera performance that stands out from the competition. Outfitted with a primary camera along with Google’s mystical image processing, the Pixel 4a will give you fantastic shots. Choose your subject, set your phone, press the shutter button, and you’ll capture the moment with stunning, high-quality photos.
And that’s not all, the AMOLED display looks very chic, the Snapdragon 730 processor is pretty fast for virtually any task, and battery life is wonderfully reliable.
It’s a cutesy, curvy polycarbonate handset that sits comfortably in the palm, and its lightweight frame makes it easy to hold and use. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, there’s almost no screen bezel, and there’s even a headphone jack.
What’s Not Nice About the Pixel 4a
Pull out the spec sheet and compare it to similarly priced rivals and the Google Pixel 4a doesn’t seem like such a great deal, with less power, less RAM, fewer cameras, a smaller screen, and no 5G connectivity.
Battery life is mediocre, with the phone just about lasting a day on a single charge – and if you really push it, you’ll be reaching for a charger come late afternoon.
All of that said, we don’t blame phone lovers if they will turn away from the lack of features galore.
But if none of these things is an issue, the Pixel 4a is a darn good choice that will give you more bang your buck. Its compact size, clean interface, and the great point-and-shoot camera will appeal to those looking for an affordable, reasonably sized handset with enough grunt for social media, web browsing, and emails, plus the ability to capture some excellent pictures.
