Most car experts know that ever since the BMW Gran Turismo series have existed, the series models aren’t embraced and accepted by the U.S. consumers themselves. If it weren’t for the engine and interior changes, most people will get confused by the fact that almost all models belonging in this series look somewhat similar to each other. However, it’s good to know that finally, significant changes are now coming to BMW’s latest creation, the 2017 3-series Gran Turismo.

Under the Hood
Being an entry luxury car, the 2017 BMW 3-series Gran Turismo is known to have two engine types. The first one is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder while the other one is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine. The four-cylinder is known to run in 248 horsepower compared to its predecessor’s 240 horsepower. The inline-six engine, on the other hand, is known to run at 320 horsepower, compared to its predecessor’s 300 horsepower. Both engines are known to have an all-wheel drivetrain and an 8-speed automatic transmission as an engine standard. It is revealed that the four-cylinder will become known as the 330i while the inline-six will become known as 340i. Experts are quick to point out that this is a significant improvement on the engines made by the company itself.
Interior and Exterior
Unless you’re a BMW expert, you won’t even notice that when compared to the 2016 model, the 2017 BMW 3-series Gran Turismo now comes with matte-chrome exterior and LED headlights as a standard, regardless of the engine type. In addition to that, the 19-inch wheel design is also changed along with some improvements on the connectivity features.
Just like before, the 2017 BMW 3-series Gran Turismo also contains lots of sheet metal, just like the previous 3-series and the Sports Wagon. Looking at the interior, experts have noticed that the rear seat area has become huge, aside from the fact that the passengers are now seated two inches higher even when compared to the previous wagon or sedan models.
However, since final product tests are not yet finished, there are no announcements regarding the 2017 BMW 3-series Gran Turismo’s price. However, it is speculated that the price will not be far from the predecessors itself, which range from $43,995 – $50, 195.
